Responding faster to changes in healthcare

Cordaan Home Care is a home care organization that provides care at clients' homes. For example, nursing assistance in case of illness, care after hospitalization or support in performing daily household tasks. Cordaan puts a lot of energy into further optimizing the implementation and planning of tasks within home care and strengthening the self-management concept within the neighborhood teams.

Why Xelion? 

Rob Bergfeld is responsible for ICT. For him, new ICT initiatives must always fit within the organization-wide ICT blueprint. “New initiatives must fit in with the Cordaan vision 'mobile unless'. In other words, we want to complete employee accessibility via mobile devices as much as possible. In addition, we aim to offer applications from the cloud as much as possible. That also applies to the communication of our home care teams.” Cordaan Thuiszorg also has some clear drivers from a business perspective. These include working in a more customer-oriented fashion and reducing administrative burdens. Davey Bochem is home care manager at Cordaan and he explains. “Through smarter communication in the home care organization, the accessibility of district care teams should improve. Also, unnecessary actions to schedule appointments should be reduced as much as possible.” This can be done by making teams more self-managing.

How do you use Xelion? 

There are several team telephones on the market, but mostly with limitations. “We were facing a large-scale change and did not want to go into a pilot with a product that did not meet 100% of our home care organization's needs. Our existing phone providers simply could not fill what we were asking for. That's why we ended up going with Xelion.” said Rob Bergfeld. Based on the requirements, Cordaan and Xelion jointly determined which features a 2.0 version of a neighborhood phone should have. These features go beyond the usual team telephones and give ambulatory caregivers some powerful tools.

'Existing telephony systems are too limited and do not offer the flexibility we need as a healthcare provider to respond to the fast changes in healthcare. Xelion is a good basis to reduce ICT costs and to further reduce management tasks within our department.'

The future

For Cordaan ICT, it is clear that telecommunications within the organization will continue to be centralized and brought completely to the cloud. Xelion is a modern cloud-based solution where users are connected to any landline or mobile device. The organization maintains freedom of choice of devices or provider. The expectation is that other Cordaan departments will be able to use Xelion in the future.
